We love design shows! In less than 60 minutes they transport viewers through weeks (sometimes months) of a renovation with ease. However, behind the scenes there are multiple steps each requiring expertise and care.
While we can’t renovate in 60 minutes or less, we make any complicated renovation process look easy and deliver as gracefully as possible for our clients. Here’s how the ADMD Experience works.
ADM Design Process
I. Your Personal Consultation
Your first meeting is usually held on-site with an accredited ADM Interior Designer. We learn how you use your space, listen to your vision, observe your aesthetic, lifestyle, note lighting, traffic, airflow, safety concerns, discuss your approximate budget and desired time frame. We generate initial ideas and share some solutions.
II. Client Brief & Proposal
A client brief is created outlining all the areas highlighted during the consult for which you want the design to include. Signing of agreement, receipt of retainer for design services and the project schedule begins!
III. Your Design Process Begins!
On-site measurements are booked. We take your wish list and begin sourcing from hundreds of exceptional suppliers we’ve developed trusted relationships with to provide the right size, scale, colour theme, and budget. Execution of digital vision boards, 3D elevations, and furniture lists begin. Paint samples, cabinetry, hardware, fabrics, wall and window coverings, tiles, flooring, and light fixtures are compiled.
IV. Concept Presentation Drawing Submission
Client Presentation of drawings, research, and concepts. Discuss why items were thoughtfully chosen. A detailed estimate is prepared including product, installation, ETAs from trades, including project management plus white glove delivery. Review budget, timelines, and collect deposit for desired product and renovation work.
V. Initiation of Construction, Renovations & Placement of Orders
Orders placed with brand name suppliers, trusted resources, and our in-house dedicated trades (demo crew, electricians, plumbers, painters, drywallers, tile installers, etc.) are booked in sequence to ensure smooth workflow. Your designer/project manager takes responsibility of all logistics and execution of your project plan. Ensuring every piece of the correct material arrives from various suppliers. Each part of this process has its own fine details to schedule and requires meticulous organization.
VI. Installation Period Continues With Receipt of Orders
Quality work takes time and often clients request the scope of the project to expand as they see what’s taking shape. We accommodate and provide revised quotes for additional work. As the trades carry on, product begins to arrive at our warehouse and remains in safe keeping until renovations are at a stage to receive lighting, furnishings, and art. Clients are kept up to date with timelines, advised of any unforeseen delays, resolving issues, adjusting if needed. While reno crews wrap up painting, wallpaper installations and final cleaning may begin.
VII. Furniture Installation & Styling
As soon as our General Contractor gives the all clear, rugs, beds, furnishings, and artwork are carefully delivered and unwrapped, and your interior designer is hands-on directing thoughtful placement of every item. Final touchups (if any) are completed.
VIII. THE REVEAL!
At an agreed upon date and time your wow moment arrives. Bring the tissues as the vision becomes a reality! Your designer will walk you through your completed project, highlighting features, explaining how challenges were overcome, and present the final invoice with our thanks.
